RWTH Aachen University

History

On the 19th century, the Prussian Prince Frederick William used a donation to found the first Prussian institute of technology, this long process ultimately resulted in the creation of RWTH Aachen University in 1870, a university with a focus on educating engineers,  due to the importance of mining in the province and particularly on the Ruhr area. 

It is currently one of the largest universities in Germany and widely considered to be one of nine universities of excellence in the country.

Admission requirements

Admission to RWTH Aachen University is mostly based on high-school results, as such proof of your study and grades should be enough to apply for the university, some courses might require proof of English or German language proficiency, additionally, if your desired course has open admission, you are guaranteed a university placement, you will still need to apply through their official website, but your entry will be guaranteed.

Student Life
