Introduction of National University Singapore:

National University Singapore is Autonomous Research University in which exercises independent control over its daily operations and syllabus. It is located in Singapore. It was established in 1905 as Medical University. It is also known as National University Singapore. It is the oldest Institute of Higher Learning(IHL) in Singapore. NUS is largest university in Singapore in terms of students and study offered. In Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree, NUS offers a large range of Subjects, including the Medicine and Dentistry, Sciences, Engineering, Design and Environment, Law, Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Computing, and Music.

The rank of NUS is 1st in Singapore and whole Asia and 22nd in the world by 2018 Times Higher Education. In 2017, NSU was named the world’s 4th (1st in Singapore) most International University Study by Times Higher Education.

In NUS, the total Academic staff is approx 5,016, the number of students is approx 38,000 in which 27,998 Undergraduates and 9,998 Postgraduates.

The main campus of National University Singapore is in Southwestern part of Singapore close to Kent Ridge. Actual is of accommodating is 150 Hectares(0.58 sq mile). In Bukit Timah campus of NUS, located houses the Faculty of Law, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Some Research organization.

Requirements for Admission:

The first requirement of admission is Mother Tongue Language(MTL), which set by the Cabinet of Education, Singapore.

Admission in Undergraduate degree,

Pass in MTL with A, Language, and Literature, Language B with MTL at Standard or Higher Level in International Diploma program. Minimum of a D7 grade for Higher MTL at Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level, Minimum ‘S’ grade required for H2 MTLL paper at Singapore Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level examination, Pass in MTL-in-lieu subject approved by Ministry of Education, Singapore.

Admission in International Qualification have to required ACT with Writing and SAT Subject Tests or Innovative Placement score report.

Admission in Graduate degree,

Must be completed Bachelor degree in a relevant program or Bachelor’s Diploma/ Graduate degree certificate with a minimum CAP of 3.00. Also, clear interviews and common entry examinations test GRE or GMAT.

Admission in Ph.D. degree requires Master’s degree with completion degree Certificate or minimum Second Class Upper Distinction degree.

 

Teaching Methods:

All courses are taught by outstanding and highly experienced international faculties. Instructors are not only experts in the field formal social science research methods, but they have years of experience in teaching their respective Methods.

Fees:

Undergraduate Degree Tuition Fees per Annual(Semester 1 & 2) is S$8,150 for Singapore Citizens, S$11,400 for Singapore Permanent Residents, and S$17,450 for International students with all the options of GST.

Government Subsidized Graduate Degree Tuition Fees per Annual(Semester 1 & 2) is S$8,500 for Singapore Citizens, S$11,900 for Singapore Permanent Residents, and S$19,600 for Intentional Students with all the options of GST.

Other Student Fees for Student Service Fee(SSF) is S$102.70, and Health Service Fee(HSF) is S$43.30 for local students and S$103.80 for International students.

 

History:

The name of the university was King Edward VII College of Medicine. Twenty years later, Raffles College was merged with King Edward VII College of Medicine and changed from University of Malaya on 8th October 1949. After 10 years of establishment the growth of University of Malaya was very fast and divided in two Autonomous in 1959, first division was located in Singapore. In 1960, the government of Singapore the Organization of Malaya wants to change the position of the university into a University of Singapore. On 1st January 1962, Singapore has renamed the National University of Singapore.
