  • Complete the Application form and pay a $30 USD non-refundable application fee.
  • Be a high school graduate or be eligible for graduation prior to attending Northwest University.
  • Submit High School transcripts.
  • Submit writings from any previous College or University work in English.
  • Submit a TOEFL score taken within the period of six months preceding to the application.

The University undergraduate program is minimum 80 scores on the internet exam required for admission to the University. To take admission is consider SAT score rather than a TOFEL score. Students who do not meet the minimum TOEFL requirement may choose to enroll in the Center for English Language Education at NU for language training prior to their university matriculation.

Requirements for Admission:

The requirements for admission are different for Canada and International students. And different for various degree programs.

To get admission in Queen’s is very tough and there is the number of spaces is less.

Queen’s University allows for admission only those students who have English Language Proficiency(ELP) and their respective minimum score requirements in TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL.

Admission in Undergraduate degree:

For Canadian students, General requirements are Rural High School Diploma with four academic courses including English at the Grade 12 level. In High School, students get marks is above the average of 80 then Queen’s will be hired first. Subjects requirements are English 12 with a minimum grade of 70%, Pre-Calculus 12, Biology 12, Calculus 12, Chemistry 12 or Physics 12.

For International students, Minimum requirements for all programs are Grade 12 graduation with at least GPA of B- on 4 academic courses from getting high school. SAAT1 Results required also acceptable a minimum ACT score of 26 and a school profile is required. Required subjects are same as Canadian students, but at least competitive average for admission should 2.7(4.3 scales). Also, 4 full-year courses in every Mathematics and Science.

Admission in Graduate degree:

Queen’s University holds students in second-class standing who have one of the following degrees awarded by the accepted university such as a Bachelor degree in Applied Science or Law, an Honours Bachelor Degree in Arts or Science, a Degree of Doctor of Medicine, or equivalent.

In Academic, Students must have at least B+ grade in academic.

History of Queen’s University:

As a result of the outcome of educational initiatives planned, Queen’s University was established by Presbyterians in the 1830s. On 16th October 1841, the imperial charter was given by Queen Victoria for establishing Queen’s University at Kingston. They modeled the university after the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow. Classes started at the university, in a small wood-frame house on the boundary of the city with 15 students and 2 professors on 7th March 1842.

Before settling in its proper location, the University changed places several times during its starting eleven years. Past to Canadian Union, from the Presbyterian Church in Scotland, the Canadian government, and private citizens financially supported by the University. After Union, when the federal government retraction it’s funding, the University ruin at the time.

The hazard of ruin continuing to worry the establishment until the end of century’s decade. They considered leaving Kingston and merging with the University of Toronto in the 1880s. Queen’s first major donor, Robert Sutherland donated additional funds bequeathed to the University staved off financial failure and retained its independence. On 17th May 1881, Queen’s was recognized as the University. In 1883 Woman’s Medical College was established at Queen’s with three classes. In 1912, Queen’s University separated from Presbyterian Church of Scotland and renamed as Queen’s University at Kingston and until 1925, Queen’s Theological College stay on in the power of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. During first World War, the University faced again financial crisis due to join in the military of students, staff, and faculty. Approximately 1,500 students participated in the war and over 180 students died.

After World Wars, grow in Queen’s has been fast and the number of students population is increased in the 1960s. From 1951 to 1961, the number of enrolling students increased from just over 2,000 to more than 3,000. On September 17, 1902, Pope Leo XIII made the University of Santo Tomas a “Pontifical University”, and by 1947, Pope Pius XII bestowed upon it the title of “The Catholic University of the Philippines”. This rich historical University of Santo Tomas is the second university in the world after the Gregorian University in Rome to be granted the formal title of Catholic University. The Gregorian University was allowed to assume this title in 1873.

The continuing increase in enrollment prompted the administration, in 1927 to transfer the university campus from Intramural to its present site in Sampaloc district, which covers a total of 21.5 hectares. The Intramural campus continued to operate until its destruction during the Second World War.

Requirements for Admission:

There are various requirements for different programs and different countries students.

Western University allows for admission only those students who have English Language Proficiency(ELP) and their respective minimum score requirements in TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL, and Western English Language Center.

For Canadian Secondary School, Students course requirements are English, Advance Function-, Calculus and Vectors, Chemistry, and Physics. And also Mid-year Average required is Low to Mid to High 80s that dependent your choice of programs.

For Canadian College, Students applying to Western from an Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning(ITAL) within Canada then requires Minimum collected average is 78% in 2 or 3 years in Diploma, and 80% in the first year.

For International Secondary Schools(India), Students requires results of the 12th standard referred via one of the following: CBSE- All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, or CISCE- Indian School Certificate, or State Boards- Intermediate/ Pre-University/ Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary School Certificate. And also Results of 10th standard.

For International University Transfer, Transfer students must have a minimum overall average of 70% in all previous university studies. Western University decides admission based on the first semester of the first year high marks results and final secondary school average.

Admission in Graduate degree:

For Master’s Programs, Students must be completed a 4-year degree from a College, University, or Institute. Minimum a 70% average in the last two full-time years of the undergraduate degree.
